The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization. The mission of The American Legion is to enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion has grown to be the largest veteran service organization in the world.

The Yorkville American Legion has been supporting veterans and the local community since it's inception in 1941. Currently, the post charters and supports Yorkville Scouting Troop 40, Troop 50, Pack 350 and Venturing Crew 1841. We also provide funeral services for departed veterans in Yorkville and the surrounding communities, award yearly scholarships to qualifying local high school students and provide color guard details for public and private events.
